Does Visual Intelligence Send Photos to ChatGPT?

Apple also says your IP address is obscured from ChatGPT, while general location is provided for fraud prevention and legal compliance. If you use ChatGPT through Apple without signing in to a ChatGPT account, Apple says OpenAI does not receive information tied to your Apple Account.

OpenAI’s help page makes the account boundary important:

without a ChatGPT account connected, OpenAI says requests through Apple’s integrations are processed to provide a safe response and comply with law, not stored or used to train models
with a ChatGPT account connected, your ChatGPT account settings and OpenAI’s data privacy policies apply
if you continue a conversation in ChatGPT outside Apple’s integration, that later use follows ChatGPT’s normal app or web policies
