Beat the Dealer: Card Counting · Effective date: September 7, 2026

The short version

Dudley Development, LLC operates Beat the Dealer, a free offline blackjack trainer for adults 18+ supported by ads. There are no accounts, and your lessons, drills, progress, and settings stay on your device. If you choose to turn it on in Settings, Beat the Dealer can send anonymous usage analytics (PostHog). When a crash-reporting project is configured for a release build, it can also send anonymous crash reports (Sentry). Neither is linked to your identity or used to track you, and neither is used for advertising.

What stays on your device

Your lesson and drill progress.
Your app settings, including purchase/ads state and optional analytics consent.

This information is stored locally on your device. We do not receive lesson content, answers, cards, counts, or free text you see in the app. Deleting the app removes local app data from your device.

Usage analytics (PostHog) — off by default, Settings opt-in

Optional first-party product analytics can measure orientation and supported lesson or drill completion, plus coarse ad-funnel steps. Events contain no cards, answers, or free text. Events are tied to a random ID generated on your device after you opt in, not to your name or any account (Beat the Dealer has no accounts). Analytics stays off until you tap Enable Optional Analytics in Settings.

Disable and Delete Analytics in Settings stops new events, clears the local send queue, and requests deletion of already-sent events for that install ID.
Events already sent are kept for 90 days as individual records and up to 13 months as aggregated statistics.
If you need help with a deletion request, copy the analytics ID shown in Settings (before you turn analytics off, since switching off resets the ID) and email support@dudleyapps.com.

Crash reporting (Sentry)

When crash reporting is configured for a release build, a crash can send an anonymous report — the stack trace and your iOS version — so we can find and fix the problem. A crash report never contains cards, answers, progress detail, or anything else from your lessons. Crash reports are kept for 30 days.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version may show interstitial ads between sessions. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising network. Beat the Dealer requests non-personalized ads and does not show Apple's tracking prompt, because it does not ask for cross-app tracking. Ads are not shown in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland. To serve and measure ads, Google may still collect device information such as a device identifier, IP address, and coarse ad-interaction data. We do not receive, store, or link any of this to you, and it is never joined with the analytics described above.

A one-time Remove Ads purchase (price shown in the app) removes those interstitial ads for the life of the app on your device and restores across devices signed in to the same Apple ID.

Used to track you

None of the data described on this page is used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and none of it is combined with data from a data broker. This is true for analytics, crash reports, and advertising alike.

Children and age

Beat the Dealer is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone under 13. There are no accounts, profiles, or in-app messaging.

Changes

If this policy ever changes materially, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance.
