Privacy Policy

The short version

Dudley Development, LLC operates EconByte, a free economics-education app supported by ads and two optional one-time purchases. We do not run accounts, and we never see your personal information. All 120 cards are bundled in the app, your progress and bookmarks stay on your device, and the app works without an account or internet connection.

What stays on your device

Your streak, daily-set progress, and bookmarks.
Your purchase state for Unlock All Topics and Remove Ads.
Your reminder, analytics, and diagnostics preferences (see below).

This information is stored locally on your device in iOS UserDefaults. We do not receive it. Deleting the app removes local app data from your device.

Optional daily reminder

EconByte can send a local notification reminding you to do today's set. This is off until you turn it on in Settings, and iOS asks your permission before any notification can appear. Turning it off stops it immediately. The reminder is scheduled entirely on your device — no server is involved.

Optional usage analytics and crash diagnostics

Settings has separate toggles for usage analytics and crash diagnostics, both off by default. When off, no analytics or diagnostic events leave your device. If you turn either on, the app may record app-level events (like which screen you're on or that a card was flipped) or technical crash information to help us find and fix problems — never card content you wrote, never precise location, and never anything tied to your identity. You can turn either toggle off again at any time in Settings.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version may show a short ad when you finish a daily set and return to the home screen — never while you're reading a card. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising network. To serve ads, Google may collect a device identifier for advertising purposes; this is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other apps or websites. We do not receive, store, or link any of this to you.

The optional Remove Ads purchase removes ads from the app.

Purchases

EconByte offers two separate one-time, non-consumable in-app purchases — Unlock All Topics ($0.99) and Remove Ads ($0.99) — processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not see or store your payment details; Apple handles billing under Apple's privacy policy. Both purchases restore on any device signed in to the same Apple ID.

Children

We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. There are no accounts, profiles, or in-app messaging.

Changes

If this policy ever changes materially, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance.
