What is Table Talk: Conversation Cards?
Table Talk: Conversation Cards is a free iPhone app of hand-written conversation-starter prompts — 420 of them, 70 per category across six social categories, plus a separate 80-card Would You Rather deck — designed for dinner tables, first dates, friend groups, and work teams. Swipe through cards, bookmark your favorites, and share them as images to Stories or group chats. No account needed, works offline.
How Table Talk works
- Tap a category — Date Night, Family Dinner, Friend Group, Work Team, Deep Questions, Light & Fun, or the Would You Rather deck.
- Swipe through cards. Each card is a full-bleed prompt on a color background. Swipe left for the next, right to go back.
- Bookmark the ones that hit. Heart a card to save it — up to 50 favorites. Open Bookmarks and tap Shuffle My Picks to run your personal deck.
- Share or screenshot. Every prompt generates a 1080×1080 share image — your card on the category color. Drop it into a group chat, a story, or a screenshot.
The Daily Featured card rotates once per calendar day, with a distinct pick for every day of the year, determined by your device date — no internet, no server.
The six categories, plus Would You Rather
- Date Night — vulnerability-forward questions that go somewhere. Not “what’s your favorite movie.” More like “what’s something you used to be embarrassed about that you now love about yourself?”
- Family Dinner — cross-generational, nostalgic, inviting. Works for everyone at the table, including the grandparents.
- Friend Group — playful, slightly roast-able. Zero stakes, high comedy potential.
- Work Team — icebreaker-safe, no oversharing, appropriate for a Monday standup.
- Deep Questions — substantive without being therapy. The prompts that actually change the direction of a dinner.
- Light & Fun — absurd hypotheticals. Zero-stakes scenarios with no wrong answers and a lot of strong opinions.
- Would You Rather — 80 either-or cards for when the table wants something quicker. Both options on screen, everyone commits, then argue about it.
Why Table Talk?
Every competitor in this category either locks prompts after the first three, runs a subscription, or has design that makes you want to put your phone face-down at the table. Table Talk is free to download, every card is free, there’s no subscription, and ads stay out of the way — never during a session, never on your first sitting, and at most once a session. The conversation about the app IS the conversation starter. That’s the whole trick.
Table Talk is free on the App Store for iPhone.

What is Table Talk: Conversation Cards?
Table Talk: Conversation Cards is a free iPhone app of hand-written conversation-starter prompts for dinner tables, first dates, friend groups, and work teams. Tap a category, swipe through cards, bookmark the ones that go somewhere, and share your favorites — no account needed, works offline.
Is Table Talk free?
Yes. Every card is free — no category is locked and there's no subscription. The app is supported by ads that appear only as you leave a session, never during one and never on your first sitting. If you'd prefer no ads, the Remove Ads purchase is a one-time buy priced in your local currency through the App Store.
How much is the Remove Ads purchase?
Remove Ads is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It removes all ads from Table Talk permanently, priced by Apple in your storefront's currency. You can restore your purchase on any device signed in to the same Apple ID.
What categories does Table Talk have?
Table Talk has six categories, 70 hand-written prompts each, for 420 cards total: Date Night (vulnerability-forward questions), Family Dinner (cross-generational, nostalgic), Friend Group (playful, slightly roast-able), Work Team (icebreaker-safe, no oversharing), Deep Questions (substantive without being therapy), and Light & Fun (absurd hypotheticals, zero stakes). There's also a separate Would You Rather deck of 80 either-or cards.
What is Would You Rather?
Would You Rather is a deck of 80 either-or cards for when the table wants something faster than a full prompt. Both options show on screen, everyone commits to one, then you argue about it. It sits alongside the six main categories.
Does Table Talk require the internet?
No. All prompts are bundled with the app — no download, no account, no internet connection required. The Daily Featured card rotates offline using the date, with a different card for every day of the year. Table Talk works everywhere, every time.
What platform is Table Talk on?
Table Talk runs on iPhone (iOS 16.6 or later) and is live on the App Store.
Does Table Talk show ads?
Ads never interrupt a session and never show on your first sitting. Once you've been playing for a while, at most one full-screen ad can appear as you leave a session, and never more than two in a day. The one-time Remove Ads purchase removes them permanently.
